Overview
If you’re a U.S. high school senior who’s serious about computer science, Amazon Future Engineer can help you get college funding, paid internships, and industry mentorship — all of which will boost your future and let you give back to your community.
What the program provides
- A scholarship of up to $40,000 (up to $10,000 per year) toward an undergraduate degree in a computer‑science–related field.
- An offer to complete a summer internship at Amazon, with pay and mentorship from industry professionals.
Who should apply (eligibility)
You must meet all of the following:
- Be a U.S. high school senior currently enrolled in (or having completed) a computer science course in high school or a high school/college dual-enrollment program. If you haven’t taken such a course, you can opt to take an assessment offered by Amazon in its place.
- Plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field — either at an accredited 4‑year college or at a 2‑year college with the intent to transfer to a 4‑year program.
- Be authorized to work in the U.S. (for example, U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or holder of an Employment Authorization Document).
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
- Demonstrate financial need — this program is intended to support students with significant need for financial assistance.
